My second day at Copenhagen Jazz Festival, was a beautiful one all because of Charles Lloyd New Quartet at Jazzhouse. Before that we hired bikes, stopped at Cafe Arabica where I joined in on some singing to a jazz group, and had food at Papirøen.
It’s hard to describe in words how this concert touched my heart. But it was for real. And music can really be a description of life and love. Or maybe it it the tangible experience of life, not a metaphor or a message but rather just the actual reality of those thing that becomes more present. Anyways. Seeing and hearing my mentors from the faculty at Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead (Jason Moran, Eric Harland) alongside with Reuben Rogers and of course Charles Lloyd was incredible. High intensity. Sweat. Beautiful music. Rawness. If I get the chance soon I want to see them again.
Reuben Rogers, Charles Lloyd and (Eric Harland).
Copenhagen is just to beautiful!
