The day started at 7.30 with a ‘morning glory’-run at the Harbour, viewing the Kennedy Center from a distance. It’s really a landmark. And that’s where we get to spend our time here. What a blessing!
Today’s sessions where about playing together for the first time. The faculty called our names up and gave us a task, basically centered around playing jazz standards all day. I’ve never done anything like it before. A new experience in many ways.
Carmen Lundy giving input to the band playing In a sentimental mood by Duke Ellington. Oskar Lindström bakom pianot!
Writing everything down being said. The critique and the comments. Learning a lot!
We ate lunch at the cafe on the top floor and then we had a guidad tour of the Kennedy Center. Beautiful concerts halls… I am looking forward to see the Ballet tomorrow at the Opera House.
Back again. I do not have the pictures but we all got on stage (24 people?) and played blues… Lots of fun to be so many on stage! It’s all so unreal, but at the same time I feel so present that it’s really happening. Enjoying every second of it! Tomorrow we will find out the groups we will work with for the upcoming two weeks and later perform with as well. I’m so excited to be surrounded with such talented people. Adios!
